RFQ Template
A good RFQ turns a vague product idea into comparable quotations and inspectable production requirements.
1. Minimum RFQ fields
| Field | What to include |
|---|---|
| Product type | Shower caddy, corner basket, towel rack, dish rack, cabinet basket |
| Dimensions | Overall size, wire diameter, mesh spacing, mounting points |
| Material | SS304, SS201, mild steel, or mixed structure |
| Finish | Chrome, powder coat, electropolish, custom color |
| Packaging | Polybag, color box, carton marks, drop-test needs |
2. Add inspection language
Ask the supplier to confirm CTQs, tolerance, coating thickness, weld strength, appearance criteria, sample approval process, and final inspection method.
3. Avoid price-only comparisons
If one quotation excludes surface testing, packaging, or export carton requirements, it is not comparable. Align the specification before comparing price.
